Seed-Scale is a methodology for community change that was developed by Future Generations founders, Carl E. Taylor and Daniel Taylor, in the early 1990’s. “Developed” means here that the Seed-Scale method was deducted from lessons learned from isolated experiences of social change around the world that had “miraculously” been successful in equitably involving entire communities and in effectively scaling-up to large areas of the country in which they initiated.
Since I worked for Future Generations from 2003 to 2017 as Peru Country Director, I had the opportunity to learn and live the Seed-Scale Methodology by applying it in community projects in Peru during the years 2002 to 2014. The following is a presentation on the methodology itself, followed by an explanation of exactly how we applied the method in a large field project in south Cusco, Peru.
